New York City- Shenme?
![]() Haosi, Robin, Yisheng, Quan, and I took a short trip to NYC yesterday. The trip was planned and tickets bought at 1:15AM- the bus was to leave at 8:45AM. We made all the reservations for the buses and the hotel less than 7 hours before we left the houses. Yisheng and I were skeptical that it was going to work at all. The idea to go to NYC came up a while ago between Robin and Haosi, and I was invited a short while after that. The five of us went on a epic fail! KTVing on Friday (which means we never got to KTVing because of my stupid curfew), when Haosi brought up the NYC trip, and Quan and Yisheng decided to go with us. The next day, we actually went KTVing, and we argued about the trip in the food court if a sketchy mall, me with ice cream in my hand, and Haosi saying that we should only stay for one day and come back during the night, and the others saying that we should stay overnight. My mom was being insane about the 10PM curfew, so I figured that staying overnight in New York City wasn’t going to be something she was going to appreciate. But apparently, that wasn’t an issue. Because we ended up spending the night in NYC anyways. When we got on the bus, it had already come up from DC, so, it was mostly full. Yisheng and I were separated from the rest of the group, and Robin had to sit with some random Chinese person. The only person really awake was Haosi, who was high during the carpool, too. I don’t know how he does this emo-to-highness transition. ![]() In front of something of Mao that they wanted to take a picture of ![]() Only in Chinatown... The bus dropped us off at Chinatown (apparently it’s a Chinatown-to-Chinatown thing… Picked people up at Chinatown DC, and dropped them off at Chinatown NYC?), and we were definitely in China. We first saw Confucius and said hi to him, and then went into a Ramen restaurant. ![]() I wanted a real Japanese ramen restaurant that my family and I went into a while back, but all I knew was that it was near a TV station, and in NYC… which didn’t come up on the GPS on Yisheng’s iPhone. Thank god for her GPS, btw. We wouldn’t have survived without it. ![]() Some banned books in China (6/4 is my birthday!) Chinatown trip was honestly frightening because of all the Chinese people being pissed off at us. I mean, I’m sure they were saying things to piss them off, but I couldn’t understand them, nor the shop owners. ![]() Haosi's most favorite place in the world I just told Haosi to shut up when he seemed like he was saying stupid things (which was quite often). ![]() There were so many creepy Elmos walking around asking for donations... ![]() We went to Rockefeller Center and Time Square (which had a huge Sanrio shop), and surprisingly, the day was over after that. ![]() We went back to Chinatown for our hotel. It was so sketchy. Like seriously. Right in middle of Chinatown, and the other side of the road had a wall filled with graffiti. Yisheng was yelling at Haosi the whole way. But it wasn’t as bad as we thought it would be. And the front desk wasn’t even Chinese. ![]() Me: Come on Robinnnn have you finished taking the picture? I hate tea!! So we sneaked in 5 people into the 4-people room, and after eating Shabu-Shabu for dinner (wasn’t all that good), we spent the night playing cards and weird games that didn’t work out instead of going ice skating like we were planning to. ![]() Come on guys- Mao is funnnn. Let's play Maooooo. One thing I know for sure is that I’m never playing Mao again. I was about to punch Haosi in the face- that game pissed me off so much. We got tired of playing Haosi’s weird games and cards, so we decided to go to sleep. But Haosi and Quan complained forever that they didn’t want to sleep, and that they wanted to go KTVing. We told them to go, and we told Quan to just get beer and shut up, but they did neither, and they ended up going into bed and talking. The only person that was up the next morning at 8 like it was discussed was Haosi. I wanted to kill him. He went to take a shower, and then opened the freaking blinds and yelled at us to wake up because it’s already 8:30. I was like, “aklsnf;iawnei.” It didn’t help that I was actually awake that whole time, but half asleep, like always. So I wanted to stay half asleep. A total leave-me-alone-I’m-sleeping mode. I don’t know why he’s so hyper active in the morning. Yisheng threatened to kill him if he didn’t stop singing. But he didn’t. And he somehow ended up using most of my batteries on my iPod that morning. ![]() We checked out, and went out to eat Chinese breakfast. Apparently, now I’m officially Chinese because I ate it. I ate sweet tofu and some of the fried bread. Actually, about 5 millimeters of the tofu and ¼ of the bread. The rest I made Haosi eat because I can’t eat breakfast these days. ![]() He and his statues... ![]() We spent the rest of the morning trying to find the ice rink in Central Park. All we had to do was just keep on going the way the first person told us, but we had to ask 5 people along the way. They all said the same thing. But we had to keep on asking anyways. We finally did find the ice rink, and we ice skated. Haosi almost killed himself, and so did Yisheng, but we all made it out alive. That actually took up the whole day, technically. ![]() Momo Sushi Haosi: Look! It's your dog!! We have to eat there!!! Me: MY DOG IS DEAD! Everyone else: Awww.... Haosi: WE HAVE TO EAT THERE ANYWAYS!!! *jay walks across the street through a red light* Something went wrong with our time calculations, and we were at 4:15 when we were in the restaurant for dinner. We had decided that we would be at the station for the 6PM bus by 5, but the food was late, and we began to freak out that we were going to miss the bus. So we wolfed down our dinner. But I think splitting the bill took more time than what we took to eat the dinner. ![]() Best thing ever We went on the subway back to Chinatown, hoping that we were on the right train. Then we were back in China again. We made it there at 5:45, which was a miracle, because we actually didn’t know where we were going. “I think there was a curve. We just need to find a road that curves!” Haosi and Robin went out on a bubble-tea hunt right after we got there, figuring that the bus wasn’t coming anytime soon. On the first bought, I went with them. But all we ended up doing was taking 4 turns to get back to where we were before. I stayed with Quan after the first time around, but the other two went on their hunt again, while Quan told me that he had seen a bubble tea shop 50 meters back where we were walking before (the opposite direction). ![]() Haosi Sleeping ![]() We were able to sit together and sleep on our way back, which was way better than what we were afraid was going to happen if we were late to the bus. As a matter of fact, we were the first few on the bus because the bus didn’t come until 6:30… So we actually didn’t have anything to worry about. But it’s always better to freak out than for something to happen and be unable to resolve the problem. Like being late for the bus to get out from Chinatown. The wireless in the house doesn't work... The internet being instable is bad enough... But the wireless almost doesn't work at all. >< So I'm on my computer instead of my laptop... :( Happy 2009!!!!!!!!!!Posted on 31 Dec 2008 by Hiro

I tracked Santa with NORAD last night. Did you? ![]() I love Christmas- it's when penguins run ramped. :P My penguin collections expand greatly every winter... I must be one of those people whom people favor most when buying presents... "Just find something with a penguin on it!" But these days, I think my penguin collection is growing too much... ![]() 教のおやつはタイヤキさんでした~~。 氷!タイヤキおいしいい~~~~☆ 笑 (氷!タイヤキー冷凍庫で凍っているタイヤキをトースターでチン!して食べるもの) To reflect upon my last few days of last semester: My friends came to visit me on my finals week, on the day I told him not to, of course. :P I should blame them for failing my sociology final. I Am There
Okay. I'm super lame.
Winter break has started! FINALLY! I have to go to my friend's graduation today, but then... This whole nothing to work on thing is throwing me off. I always expect myself to find some book I have to read or some assignment I have to do... but... Nope. XD Anyways, because I'm still dizzy (and ate something funny), I'll just leave for now with the LEGAL version of the Dragon Ball Special (I know... I didn't know these things were possible, either). Install this official JUMP Manga Viewer Browser (.msi) Click on Watch This Anime Or you can go watch the multitude of them uploaded on YouTube... ;3 Also, YOU SHOULD TOTALLY PLAY THE DRAGON RADAR GAME! (Though I haven't played it yet. I feel too sick right now. XD) BTW- I'm really digging the Ctrl+V function... Lol... ---- First thing in the morning, when I got out of bed, my sister stopped me in the living room. My Sister: "I knew I'd be distracted all winter break, so I finished everything!" I was impressed. Because my sister never finishes anything. It's a wonder, a HUGE wonder how she kept her 4.0 for the past 2 years, and is still afloat (after all the crap that's happened this year) in Junior year with I don't even know how many AP classes... -___-" My mom is always complaining. So I was very impressed. But then, My Sister: "_____ died." Me: ............................................. @___________________@ "Wait, you meant you finished the SERIES?! Not your HOMEWORK?!" My Sister: "What are you talking about! Of course I didn't finish my homework!" Of course not I have a bruise on my left arm. I think its because my dog chewed on it. But oh well. Almost There
I uploaded a new layout at Quintessence, and updated the network page with the new screencap. :)It featured my obsession with Lelouch vi Britannia... Of course, Code Geass was everything of Death Note, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Gundam, and everything else. But it's okay, because Lulu is hott. And yes- I'm loving this color-scheme. ♥ I love emerald and magenta~~♥ ♥ I am in the midst of my finals week. I had two, and two left to go. I had about two and a half hour of sleep last "night," so after my 8AM exam, I came back and took a nap... Got up at 1:30 to get food, came back, took at nap around 4? And was asleep until 7:30 or so... I really feel like I was sleeping the whole day. Because I don't have a final tomorrow. But I will on Thursday, and I haven't started studying yet. So I kind of have to get up to that one... My last final is on Saturday, at 8AM. I hate my schedule. But I know I'll live through! Hohohoho! (Did you know Santa's not supposed to say HOHOHO anymore because it's insulting to the...you know... women?) This weekend, I didn't go home until Saturday night after I declared that I can't study at home. But I had to go back anyways, to watch my sister's Nutcracker performance. ![]() (There are videos at the bottom. XD) And then I had to go to my Religion's class' dinner at Sheraton Hotel. We were all really skeptical because we had finals the next day, but it was something we had to go to, so we did. It wasn't bad. The professor gave all the girls in class this book: ![]() Gibran's Little Book of Love Leik wut? ![]() ![]() ---- ---- Cat that loves Broccoli: Vote For Asa-Ame! ![]() Posted on 16 Dec 2008 by Hiro
Waiting for Snow
Actually, not really. Not yet.
Snow after winter break starts... I don't want to walk around in the snow. The temperature fluctuation is insane- I never know if I need my down jacket and sweater, windbreaker and sweater, or just a sweater... I turned in my 10 page paper (that was 9) yesterday for my Spiritual Heritage (World Religions) class. That was the worst paper I've written, not because of content, but because of what I had to write about. I had to write about the book, Why Religion Matters. If you know me, you'd know why I'd have a slight difficulty with that... But yeah- I definitely thought the author was insane... like.. insane. @_@ Not just because he's a religion fanatic, mind you. But he kept on ranting, for 300 pages, on how scientism is bad, and technology and science is the bane of humanity's existence. Apparently the reason why this world is going so badly is because of technology. And he's reaping the benefits of technology... But then again, he was born in 1919- I guess that's when the world was running without technology...? I woke up today at 11AM, which meant I missed my first class (woops :P). Had it not been for the fact that I promised to eat lunch with my friend, I wouldn't have gotten up, but I promised to eat lunch with her at 11. So I grudgingly got up. Ate lunch and ice cream with her, and came back around 12:46 (yes- I memorize times sometimes @_@)? I went to take a nap at around 1 because my 2PM class was canceled, and woke up at 3:40. 3:30 happened to be my schedule registeration time, so I registered for classes. I went to my Honors 100 class (last one!!) at 4, came back at 5:40, and went out to eat at Applebee with my roommate. Then I came home, took a nap, and somehow slept from 8:40 to 11, which was when my friend called me to come over. Hah. Seems like I was just sleeping the whole day... @____@ And I'm actually ready to sleep more... Maybe I should just sleep... Heh. I am currently going through a Code Geass phase- after Dragon Ball Z, it's Code Geass. And I have to say... why is that show so freaking emo?!?!?!? Good god... This was my small contribution frantic contribution to fandom when I started watching. XD I'm on the 2nd season now, but I'm not really digging it too much... :/ I got my spring schedule finalized today: ![]() MATH212 Elements of Numbers and Operations EDSP210 Intro to Special Education HESP202 Intro to Hearing and Speech Sciences EDHD411 Child Growth and Development HONR228R Parenting and Poverty When I registered for my schedules, this came up: ![]() I did take Differential Equations... but what is College Preparatory Algebra...? Because apparently if you didn't take it, you can't take the course... lol. Vote For Asa-Ame! ![]() Posted on 05 Dec 2008 by Hiro
